Love and loyalty to God |
Our chief aim is to love and glorify God.
Jesus’ first and greatest commandment is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22.37 “You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3 |
|
Love and care for others |
We seek to build Godly relationships that reflect a culture of care and encouragement.
Jesus’ second great commandment is to ‘Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22.37 “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up”. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another.” James 4:11 “If your brother or sister sins against you, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. Matthew 18:15 |
|
Absolute truth of Scripture |
We hold to the absolute truth and authority of the Bible in all matters of faith, practice and conduct.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Matt 24:35 |
|
Peace and forgiveness |
We seek to live in peace and harmony, honouring those who faithfully serve the Lord, and forgiving those who sin against us.
“Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness” James3:18 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins” Matthew 6:15 |
|
Faith and prayer |
We believe in the power of prayer and commit our ways to Him, trusting God for guidance. “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3.5 “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews11:6 |
|
Honesty and integrity |
We hold fast to a culture of honesty and integrity and are committed to faithful stewardship of resources.
“He that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in much.” Luke 16:10 “Whoever walks in integrity will be delivered.” Proverbs 28:18 |
|
Service and humility |
Jesus came not to be served but to serve. Let our service be pleasing to God and a blessing to others.
“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus who being in very nature God made Himself nothing...He humbled Himself and became obedient to death, even death on the Cross.” Phil 2: 5-8 "Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality." Romans 12:13 |
|
Wisdom and responsibility |
We are committed to discipline and self-control in our personal and corporate lives.
“It is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy”. 1 Corinthians 4:2 “The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. James 3:17 |
